Presentation

The Edge of eternity combines CGI video and photography, digital immateriality and the materiality of fossil matter, the fleeting nature of youth and the suspended time of sleep. It was in Calais, a place of transition and borders, that I photogrammed three young people as they imitated sleep. I interpreted the young, adolescent body as a fragile moment and the receptacle of global transitions to come. Buried beneath the minerals of their digital dreams, absorbed by the movement of natural elements, their camouflaged bodies become mineralized.

Biography

Céleste Rogosin is a French-American visual artist based in Paris. Initially trained in the performing arts — dance and theater — and later in cinema where she deepened her visual arts practice and began exploring digital forms of storytelling. Moving beyond traditional cinematic narratives and formats, she embraces hybrid approaches that merge sculpture, performance, installation, and video.

Her work explores subversive counter-narratives in which the body — always in flux — maintains an ambiguous relationship with space. Rooted in a documentary approach and attuned to pressing social issues, her creations use fictionalization and metamorphosis as key tools for artistic expression.

Céleste Rogosin was the guest artist of the Pinault Collection in Lens for the 2023–2024 season. Her work will be exhibited at the FRAC Grand Large in 2025. The same year she was a recipient of the national photographic commission “Performance” from the CNAP (French National Collection operator).
